The breeding at Ólafshagi started in the year 2006 when we bought 1/3 in three mares. After a little while we got more mares, and now we have a total of 10 mares we are breeding from, that we own ourselves or own some percentage in. Now we get about four to five foals every year. Most of our breeding mares are shown for 1.price, if they are not we know them well and they have some special features we are looking for in our breeding.
The mares we are using come from different breeding lines, and they are all chosen with consideration of they features they have, and what we are looking for. We only use 1.price stallions, and choose them carefully with the aim to outbreed the best features in our mares that we seek for in our breeding. From the beginning we have been very clear about what our goal is.
